The Art of Beaded Skulls

First, I'll tell you that my studio doubles as my living room, so a good share of these photos will show my house, my critter crew and possibly my husband. We live tiny, on beautiful Dexter Lake, you may even see it out the patio door. I hope you enjoy seeing the process.

There will be more than skulls here. I make warrior breast plates, dream catchers, beaded skulls, beaded hats, beaded feathers with leather straps, patches, the list is endless.

In progress now...

This is a steer skull that is well weathered. I painted the outer shell of the skull and left in inside weathered. It started with our park logo and went from there. This is a custom piece for Dexter Shores RV Park. I will add pics as I go.

Snake hat made with a dragon vein cabochon for the head. It has beautiful golden copper and root beer seed beads for the snake body. I need to get the finished hat uploaded.

Trail of Tears has peyote stitched floral's on buffalo hide on each cheek and the end of the Trail is reflecting in the water. All the seed beads are placed by hand, one by one. The hide has been torched and the bead elements dry brushed to look old.
